Vacation Bible School

VBS is such a wonderful opportunity for discipleship and outreach in your community. I encourage you to host a VBS at your church regardless of the number of children or volunteers you believe will be involved! If only 10 children come to learn about Jesus – it’s all worth it! I encourage you to do VBS with excellence. Make it awesome, and kids will remember their experience at your church.

I encourage you to partner with other churches using the same curriculum. Share decorations, resources, or even staff. If your church does not have the money to host a VBS, I might suggest asking other churches to borrow curriculum from previous years. You could make a donation to the lending church or volunteer services to thank them for letting you borrow their curriculum. This might help both churches!

Get involved in message boards and resources. This will encourage your spirit and inspire creativity as you begin your planning for VBS! I always look for curriculum with powerful Bible messages, great publisher support, message boards for communication with other VBS Directors, excellent music, and helpful resources.

If you have any questions about these or other VBS selections, feel free to e-mail Children’s Director, Amber Hines for tips and help.

Here are a few of the new themes and curriculum choices for VBS 2008!
